The Facilities department is currently recruiting for a highly skilled, experienced buyer to procure products and services for the department. Responsibilities will include advising department heads on purchasing issues, preparing and verifying purchase orders, reviewing requisitions and researching alternative vendors.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years of experience performing buyer functions is required. Buying experience in a construction related environment is preferred.

Centennial, Inc. has been retained to recruit a Buyer for one of our highly valuable clients in Northern Cincinnati. The 'ideal' candidate has purchasing, sourcing, buying experience in a high volume consumer package goods or supermarket organization. This individual will have experience with planning, forecasting, budgeting, vendor and supplier management, purchasing, analytics & financials with both domestic and international suppliers.

Responsibilities:
Initiate purchase orders; resolve vendor inquires, in a timely manner
Interviews and confers with vendors and/or suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Reviews bid proposal and negotiates contacts with budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items and services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and manage inventory levels at a 99.9% fill rate.
Work with warehouse/receiving department on all product loss or inventory variances.
Create price gain and freight savings.
Responsible for confirming correct invoice pricing and maintaining
Works with product development, marketing and sales on media materials.
Coordinates defective or unacceptable goods and services with quality assurance personnel, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take correction action.
International buying experience a plus.
Understand and follow seasonal buying trends, manage purchases and inventory accordingly.
Analyze buying history to determine product types and quantities required to meet demand.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum of 3-5 years business experience in Purchasing.
Corporate Supermarket, Consumer Package Goods or Retail experience is preferred.
Full working knowledge of purchasing concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
Organizational skills and detailed oriented skills must be exceptional.
Financial and analytical skills essential
Negotiation skills
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external personnel.
High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
